@robertandycoombs_ had his Instagram account unjustly deleted today. The man pictured here in the golden hour sunlight, Robert Andy Coombs, is one of the better photographers, artists, and people that I know. I am consistently thankful of him for taking me under his wings, bringing me along on his journey, and teaching me what he knows. @instagram and @meta should be absolutely ashamed for their disrespect towards the same creators they claim to exist for. Robert’s last account @robertandycoombs2 was deleted by instgram for sharing a photo that has been shared to multiple other accounts without issue. This blatant display of ableism and censorship is ridiculous as one can just scroll to see massive amounts of actual pornographic nudity on Instagram. If you followed him before please follow this new account. If you can please report this issue to Instagram. #Censorship has been a recurring theme this wk. I’m having issues here on Insta. Those of you who run s3xual health/ed (or anything else the algorithms penalize--larger and/or browner bodies, talk abt politics, race, etc.) I’d love to know if you’re having similar issues. Backstory: I run 2 profiles--this & @AmericanSexPodcast. Despite having the word s3x in that profile’s name, it’s been acting normally. This one has not. Also, from my 17yrs experience in agency media/advertising, I’m very knowledgeable in navigating soc media for business--so what’s been happening really has me stumped.    This profile has been suppressed for yrs. It’s also the only account I’ve had trouble getting verified on (I’m blue checked everywhere else). I’m not “shadow banned” (you can check by searching for a recently used hashtag w/a non-follower account. If you show up, you’re not SBed).  I feel like this profile has some sort of “dark mark” on it on the backend. When stories feature was released I was among the last to get it (about a year after everyone else). I still don’t have Reels.   But, whatever. I know even tho I make ZERO explicit content (anywhere on the internet) and talk about s3xuality & relationships from an educational/never-meant-to-arouse, Dr. Ruthesque perspective, censorship is still a b1tch. Listen to my podcast eps/vids on the history of censorship--I know what’s behind it all too well. I get it, I’m suppressed, it sucks & is unfair, but I understand why it’s happening.  But this newest thing that has me COMPLETELY STUMPED & what I’d love feedback on--people are telling me this account is showing up as “private” for them even tho it’s NOT private! Many can’t RT my posts & when they navigate to my profile from a browser, it says “Account Not Found” (per my pic). And these are people following me!   It makes ZERO sense. I sent a support ticket to Insta last week but I don’t expect a response. My questions:  A. Has this happened to your account & did you find an explanation/solution? B. Has my profile shown up as “private” to you or acted funny?  I want to document more cases of this happening so I can get to the bottom of it.
