This Tiktok ban is so stupid. Mark Z is kissing DTs butt and he paid Congress to ban Tiktok instead of fixing Meta.

My issue with IG and FB is that it scans all your data and according to that. They cater to your interests. The problem is that YT/FB/IG becomes duplicates. YES, I know, youtube is not Meta it is Google. But they basically use the same data. I HATE their suggestions. I have 15 or so channels I follow on YT, and that is all I watch. They haven't presented me with anything new to tickle my interest in the last 5 YEARS. They are just greedy. IG is basically a copy of my youtube creators that I DON'T follow on IG. It is at least 2 weeks old. Then, about 3 months later, we get it on Facebook. But like the game Telephone, the information has been distorted and is no longer the original information. Facebook is strictly for family that lives overseas. It is completely private, and I have not followed new people in 10 years. Also, if you unfriend me, you will never be friended again. Every few months, I go back and recheck my privacy settings because FB tends to delete the settings to make it more accessible. IG is strictly for brands and famous people. I have a few friends who follow me, but I don't often post there. Tiktok is for fun. Only about 50% of stuff is true, but I love doom scrolling. The algorithm is very sensitive and can adjust what it shows me within 3 posts. I want to see cat videos, boom, now I am sick of cats. I want to see cooking clips, boom. I'm not sure how it does it, but it just knows. It is easier to spread information, but it is pretty much like someone standing on a street corner. If you skip a street, your paths may never cross. On Tiktok, I only follow influencers and some actors. Not brands and not really regular famous people.

Now I am from South Africa, and there are zero chances that RSA would ever ban Tiktok. But almost everyone I follow is from America. Tiktok won't be the same without you guys.

This is just me venting my frustration. Thanks for listening to my TED rant. Hehe.

Hello Tumblr, 

It’s been a minute, and by a minute I mean two years. I want to talk about this platform and the need for a social platform for photographers because there isn’t a good one right now. Instagram is over for photographers, I feel like it’s all we have even though ‘reels’ is their only focus. Tumblr is great, I want it to have a comeback but so many people have left this platform, including myself. But I went back and read my old posts, this was a place for me to tell stories and share in way that I find hard on instagram or my phone. There isn’t a place for every photo and story on a website, and let's be honest, people don’t read on instagram. Personally, I still need a place to talk about my work and photos, a diary almost, so I’m coming back, long live Tumblr.

Safe Space

Some context for this one: The recent anti-homophobia comic I posted just over a week ago was removed by Instagram for being “hateful”. My appeal was promptly denied and the post was permanently deleted. My account is now restricted and I’ve been losing followers steadily since the removal. Reach and engagement have also plummeted. Word has it that a shadowban like this will time out after two weeks, or a month, but there is no official statements from Instagram about these bans.

So I have pretty much no idea what actually happened. The comic might have offended someone of the LGBT community who only saw the first two panels (regretful if that was the case. They should’ve read the rest of the comic), or my comic may have been mass reported by homophobes. Either way they won this round.

So I made this comic, which I’m not entirely sure I will post to Instagram at all. Worst case scenario, if the homophobe army decides to mass report me again my account may be permanently deleted. What do you people think?
