There's this postman who looks American and sounds American and he comes to our office regularly. Our nice chat yesterday gave me all the answers I needed. He's half-American, was never recognized by his father, and was denied a US visa a couple of times. He said he always gets a good laugh when he receives special treatment in government offices presumably because of how he looks and sounds. He's given a chair while Filipinos are made to wait in line. He's escorted to the back office while the others take a priority number. At first, he enjoyed this special treatment but later on, he refused it. At the end of the day, he says, it's sad to see how Filipinos ruin the lives of fellow Filipinos. #instakwento #stories #humansofdavao
