Bo of Sen Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar in Mt Eden has set up Nam Nam at 8 Huron St, in the company of illustrious neighbours in Mamak Takapuna, Ramen Lab and Honey Cafe. You can either eat in or take out. Choose the classics of Banh Mi, Cuô’n (rice paper rolls), Bún (noodle salad) and Pho. Sacrilegious perhaps to Vietnamese cuisine purists, you can even have a vegan pho with tofu. Traditional Vietnamese iced coffee and lemongrass iced tea are available. Sen Vietnamese Kitchen is 2 years old. It occupies the historic CAC (Colonial Ammunition Company) in Mt Eden. Decided to re-acquaint myself with Sen again. Maître d and co-owner Bo welcomed Uncle like a long lost friend. Had the Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi and Goi Cuon, delicate rice paper rolls with lemongrass chicken filling.
