the dissonance between how the english naeu server sees ALVA and mainland fandom is completely insane. i thought i was crazy but my interpretation is apparently completely aligning with what the writers do there which, fucks me up severely and basically

naeu: a weak-willed man who indulged herman balsa and later his son with no defense whatsoever, anything can be done to him for some reason and he will accept it.

cn: this man refuses luca balsa 5 times before even contemplating acknowledging his feelings, just to make sure neither of them are acting as substitutes for anyone else, the fact that alva doesn't bother to lie and sugarcoat is something that luca has to learn to understand, just like alva has to understand how to reassure luca of his true thoughts, it's about the mutual respect and leaving each other if necessary because that, is also love.
