“Did you just cough– blood?”
The Meme! Not Accepting!
The cold Izuku had last week was still hanging around even as the days rolled on well into the next week. No matter how hard he tried or how much rest he had gotten, he just couldn’t seem to shake the last bits of the cold and cough that still persisted. He’d been encouraged to see a doctor but he saw no point in wasting anyone’s time over the small cough when he knew exactly what it was. So despite Kacchan’s threats he was on his way to work, but instead of walking like he normally does, he decided to take the bus.
There was almost no one sitting at the bus stop besides himself and another guy who seemed more interested in his phone than speaking with him. He was grateful for that, because today he wasn’t really feeling well enough to force awkward small talk between himself and the other just for the sake of breaking the silence. It’s not that it mattered it mattered much as a coughing fit struck making it impossible to talk anyways. It was painful, and his throat hurt with each cough ripped right from him. What Izuku could only assume was his own saliva had been coughed up into the hands cupped over his mouth. It was gross and he was kind of glad he carried hand sanitizer around with him where ever he went now.
Izuku had the attention of the other man now as his fit subsided and he pulled his hands away from his mouth about to wipe them on his pants before he’d get his sanitizer to get rid of his germs.
“Did you just cough– blood?”
Maybe it would be better if he went-- Wait what did he just say? Blood? He had pointed to Izuku’s hands when he had said it. What he had assumed was his own spit was actually blood and quite a bit of it too. The red smeared against his skin and he was suddenly very much aware of the coppery taste in his mouth that settled heavy on his tongue. His breath caught in his throat as he stared at his bloodstained hands. Pain erupted through his chest laced with panic and fear while his throat just dully ached as he turns wide eyes to the blonde sitting next to him.
“C-c-call an ambulance” another cough tears from his throat and its more painful than the last and he’s barely able to cover his mouth before he coughs up all over himself, “p-please!?”
Something was really wrong. Really really wrong.
Despite being like this since he was a child nothing like this has ever happened before. Had he pushed himself to hard this time? Was he going to be okay?
