“WOW!!! I am the most BLESSED person I know. I have the pleasure to know my daughters, my granddaughters and now my great-granddaughter Ryder K and great-grandson Baaz, I am also BLESSED to know their friends. After living for 80+ years and having many life's experiences and encountered many people, my conclusion is that I AM GRATEFUL TO BE BLACK! From the third grade to the twelfth grade, I served as a violinist in the LAUSD All City Orchestra. In the orchestra, I was often the only Black and often 1st Chair. When I served as a deputy sheriff, I again was often the only Black in the classroom, on the shift, etc. In the Sheriff's Dept., the Blacks were the MORAL COMPASS!! For sure, when we went into the food business, we were often the only Blacks in the room.
