       it’s a quick motion ------ a hand jolting forward to tap at the ocean princess’ scarlet crown in an endeavor to garner some semi-balance of attention. the smirk, thought, is quickly swallowed by a forced sigh, a grab to try and save some face with the zora. “well ----- that could have gone better! eh hee hee!”

          wings  of  crimson  fold  in  around  them  over  the  moment  he  lands.  a  shield  erected  by  mental  will,  and  while  he  can  feel  the  bite  and  cut  of  iron  wrought  bullets  against  steeled  feathers,  they  remain  nothing  more  than  a  plucky  annoyance  in  the  wake  of  it  all.  hawks  grins  down  at  her.  a  lopsided,  absent  thing  that  couldn’t  light  a  candle  to  the  sharp  prowess  of  his  stance. 

          he  shifts  her  closer  to  his  chest,  a  hand  finding  home  against  the  back  of  her  neck  ---  cradling  her  head.  “sorry  princess,  the  skies  are  a  mess.”  that  grin  of  his  slips,  and  his  gaze  lands  on  her  beneath  the  plumage  of  red  securely  encasing  her.  “how bad?”
