I wanna take a moment to give a big shout out to Intel for putting together such an incredible showcase of technological innovation at the IDF2016.
This week Intel hosted their annual Intel Developer Forum in the Moscone Center in San Francisco and my twin and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend the 3rd day.
Intel really is a pioneer when it comes to developing new and creative ways to build the fastest processor and it is through their efforts and inventions that the technology sector is where it is today. From using code to create music, to programming a robot to bartend. These guys know how to do everything!
But one of my favorite parts about my visit is that we were the first to try out their newest Virtual Reality immersive video game.
They hooked us up with an oculus rift, bass-tastic headphones and two hand held devices and 5 seconds later I was IN the game. The system brought my body into the arena by using thermal imaging from the rift to scan my body to know what I looked like and in this way it detected my movements wherever I went. Before I knew it I was using the devices as guns to shoot and take down robots.
It literally felt real, like I was in an action movie fighting along side Will Smith.
Certainly one of the best experiences of my career and I can’t wait till this technology is made available to gamers.
