Kanade Rindo – Premonition
"We'll change our fate!"
Rindo’s full “Replay” ability from the game goes way too far for a Semblance; time-travel of that level seems more comparable to one of the Four Relics of divine creation. So I will pare it down to something more level with other Semblances.
It’s still pretty powerful.
As a passive Semblance, Rindo’s “Premonition” triggers automatically on any day in which Rindo would die before the day’s end.
When he first wakes on such a day, his Aura instantly shatters from the cost of activation, leaving him vulnerable until he can recover.
Initially, Rindo only receives a vision of the moments immediately before his death, entirely from his own limited perspective and with no context for how he arrived in that situation.
As Rindo goes through the day and acts to change his destiny, he receives additional visions regarding what would have happened at those exact moments, had he not known the danger awaiting for him. This usually provides him additional context for the initial vision, granting him greater insight into how to avoid his untimely demise.
However, Rindo has no idea what would happen if he avoids one death in a day, only to find himself facing certain doom again afterwards in the very same day. Would his Semblance trigger again? Could it even do so in time to do any good?
If Rindo doesn’t keep his Semblance a secret from his professors, word of it will eventually spread and reach the ears of those who would greatly desire to have an agent who can survive missions of certain death and return with secrets their enemies would never have willingly revealed.

Intelligence Type Semblances
With the release of Velvet Scarlatina, Amity Arena gives us another peek into the world of Remnant.
It seems that Semblances which affect only the mind of the user are referred to as “Intelligence-types”, and these kinds of Semblance don’t command as much respect or admiration as Semblances which have visible manifestations in the world.
In honor of our favorite underbunny, I’m going to list my article on her Semblance, as well as the few Semblances I’ve written which seem to qualify as Intelligence-type. A list I plan on expanding soon.

Usui Nagi – Dive
"Shall I proceed, then?"
Nagi’s Semblance allows her to project her own consciousness into the mind of someone else while close enough to physically touch them. Her own body remains vulnerable in the physical world, as she and her target enter a shared trance. If her target dodges the visible image of Nagi’s projected self leaping at them, they can avoid her Semblance and attack Nagi before her consciousness returns to her body.
The dangers do not end there. Successfully Diving into someone else’s mind exposes Nagi to all of their unfiltered thoughts and feelings, which taxes her sense of self even as her Aura depletes to fuel the Dive. Furthermore, her target becomes and remains fully aware of her intruding presence, and may lash out with their mind and Aura to assault hers. Nagi cannot Dive into a sleeping target without waking them up.
What’s more, Nagi’s targets always have something of a homefield advantage. Nagi must consciously and deliberately share any of her own thoughts to communicate to her target, but her natural and reflexive mental filters remain in place. Her target simply doesn’t experience the same immersive onslaught from her that she automatically suffers from them.
Fortunately for Nagi, while she remains physically weak and unskilled as a Huntress, with only the most basic weapons for self-defense, these limitations matter not at all in a psychic clash of wills. On the illusory plane of the mind, Nagi strides like a juggernaut. Even those who can match her Aura and mental tenacity find themselves at a skill disadvantage because of her greater experience with this form of combat.
"Pardon the intrusion!"
When exercising her full power, Nagi can take other willing allies with her into a Dive. This drains her Aura much faster, but allows her to rely on superior numbers to overwhelm her target quickly before her strength fails.
As an advanced technique, Nagi can project just enough of herself into someone else’s mind to merely imprint one thought without giving any sign she did anything. While far from outright mind-control, and while she can’t control how her target chooses to react to these sudden thoughts or ideas, this technique does let Nagi steer someone’s attention and thoughts in a direction of her choosing.
"What an awful affliction..."
Her combat school quickly recognized Nagi as a natural-born Nightmare Hunter and encouraged her to pursue such a career. Under the tutelage of a senior Huntsman, Nagi learned how to hunt Grimm that possess humans, as well as how to assist the law-enforcers of the Great Kingdoms to interrogate suspected and convicted criminals to learn their secrets.
Diving into people infected by Nightmare Grimm works differently from normal. The Grimm’s influence keeps the victim asleep despite Nagi’s intrusion, which prevents them from directly attacking or assisting her. Meanwhile, the organized narrative structure of the dreamscape prevents Nagi from reading her target’s mind freely but also means she doesn’t have to endure a constant barrage of foreign feelings and thoughts.
"Onward I dive!"

Beehunter – Boxer’s Concentration
Growing up without a proper education or any formal training, the bear-faunus known only as Beehunter doesn’t realize she’s discovered her Semblance, despite how much she uses it in her daily life.
The harder she hits something (human, Grimm, or inanimate object), the more she understands its structure. After five of her lightning-fast jabs, she can completely grasp her target’s most durable and most vulnerable points, and therefore understand exactly where to strike for maximum damage. Wounds both fresh and old become crystal clear to her, and completely new species of Grimm can hide few surprises from her.
Whether from a limitation of her Semblance or her own careless disregard, Beehunter completely loses this understanding the moment that she begins hitting and Concentrating on a new target. But she seldom leaves a previous opponent intact enough to worry about.
This Semblance works extremely well with her boxing fighting style, which doesn’t allow her to inflict as much damage per attack as swordsmen, but which does allow her to attack far more rapidly.
Whenever possible, she wears her opponent down with a shockingly rapid series of jabs, first probing for their weakness and then exploiting it ruthlessly. Otherwise, she concentrates on her defense, floating around attacks and launching stinging counterattacks when an opening presents itself, patiently outlasting her opponent.
Much like herself, the potential of Beehunter’s Semblance seems limited by her lack of self-reflection and imagination... but she’s happy and successful in her chosen lifestyle, so finding a way to inspire her to grow presents a challenge.
Though recently, she has shown a remarkable aptitude as a combat instructor and personal trainer. In addition to her own infectious enthusiasm and the considerable skills she can impart, her Semblance alerts her to physiological weaknesses in her training partners and students. So warned, they can then seek appropriate physical conditioning or medical treatment before those problems get them killed.

Fox Alistair – Lights in the Dark
Fox's intelligence-type Semblance allows him to sense the minds of other living creatures, whether man or beast. Grimm don't even register as beasts to his sixth sense, but instead as voids even emptier of thought than inanimate matter. Fox has incredible range with this Semblance, being able to recognize the presence of humans miles away from his location, and recognizing any individuals even at that range if he's sufficiently familiar with them.
Though totally blind since birth, Fox perceives minds as lights. People's lights seem dim to him when they're barely conscious, flickering when they struggle to remain alert, blotted with darkness when afraid for themselves, and burning brightest apparently when the person is most focused on protecting others. (If he knew what colors looked like, would he perceive this light as silver?)
This sixth sense is separate from his ability to sense and measure the Auras of others, as Coco recognizes that as an advanced technique universally available to any huntsman. Though it stands to reason that Fox's Semblance might make it easier for him to practice such a technique.
Fox can't read minds except for the surface thoughts of people consumed by overwhelming emotions, when their mouths are already shouting what is on their minds anyway. But he can offer others a way to silently speak their minds to him.

“Therapist” – Phobia
This intelligence-type Semblance allows one to understand another living creature’s worst fear simply by looking at them.
Simple fears can be understood instantly, in flashes of insight. A single glance is all one needs to realize someone's greatest fear is a phobia of spiders. Extended study can dredge up visions of the memories surrounding that fear, and further study can peel back the layers of reinterpretation to arrive at the raw, unfiltered experiences.
More complicated fears, such as a mortal terror of a specific person, demand extended study to grasp all of the relevant details, such as the third person's appearance, voice, name, exact relation to the subject, the abilities which make them a threat, and the experiences which inspired the fear.
A person's other fears can be glimpsed when the subject actively thinks of them, but the Semblance cannot dig up more details after the subject's thoughts have moved on.
