Taken, Pierre Morel, 2008

SailPoint is buying Saas management startup Intello – TechCrunch
SailPoint, an identity management company that went public in 2017, announced it was going to be acquiring Intello today, an early stage SaaS management startup. The two companies did not share the purchase price. SailPoint believes that by helping its customers locate all of the SaaS tools being used inside a company, it can help IT make the company safer. Part of the problem is that it’s so…

Being smart : a fault? / Être intello : un défaut ?
Christmas… A celebration where the family meets. Debates can come alive. This year, the youngest of the family is launching a very basic game. She gives a letter and must give a word that begins with that letter. Unfortunately, this game bores me horribly because it’s far too simple. So I decide to make it a little more difficult by only coming up with words rarely used in everyday life. Bad idea since I am immediately categorized as an intelligence and mocked for that.
As often then, I wonder why. Why is it so bad to know a lot ? How wrong is it to adapt a game so that I can include instead of staying in my corner ? Since when is being smart an insult ?
I did some research but difficult to find texts on this issue. So I'm just going to make assumptions, hoping that real research will be done on the subject.
One of my hypotheses is that of jealousy. In the situation that I presented to you, there is one thing that I didn’t tell you : I am the most qualified in my family. I am the one who has studied the most and who has the most knowledge in multiple fields and not only thanks to my studies but also by my personal curiosity which always pushes me to know more. They may try to lower me to their level because they feel the gap. I’m not saying that they are stupid. They surely have more experience than me because they are all older than me. Nevertheless, they may be afraid that I will surpass them. After all, fears aren’t often justified.
Another assumption is that they are just pretentious and that they are trying to get me back down to Earth. So it’s that they made a wrong deduction because that’s not my intention. I’m bored so I’m raising the level. It's like in a video game with several levels of play. If I level up, it isn’t to impress my friends the players who see how strong I am but only because I am looking for a little challenge.
An additional hypothesis comes to mind. Maybe the prejudice that being "smart" is something you can make fun of without problem. I say this in reminding myself of my teenage years when the people with the best grades are laughed at for no real reason. What if it was only a societal idea that no longer has any meaning today?
Personally, I’m proud to have so much knowledge. They allow me to better understand the world, to be less afraid of it, to be more tolerant and open to new things, to advise at best by knowing the consequences, to be able to focus more on the human aspect, to resolve quickly problems ... I never understood blaming someone for their intelligence. I have always admired this kind of person who arrives at work during or/and who has facilities. I'm pretty lazy, I admit, and working is painful for me, especially since I have learning difficulties. I have always admired this kind of person who arrives at work during or/and who has facilities. I find it a shame to make fun of this kind of thing.
And you what do you think? What is your hypothesis (ies)? Your opinion on "intellectuals"?
Finally, my friends, one last message for you. Faced with incredible information, strange, sulphurous, do not forget to remain skeptical because there are things we can not doubt in our world. We can not doubt that people are lying to us. There is no doubt that people are trying to get attention to get noticed. We can not doubt that some people can create fake news just to hurt, to take revenge …
