Hero x Villian where Hero kills and unmasks Villain in a final bloody battle but when they pull off the mask

(villain is someone important to them e.g sibling, lover, etc who was either being mid-controlled, manipulated or black-mailed by supervillain or were just plain evil and always planned on betraying hero)
the anguish of finding out that you have betrayed by someone while also dealing with the fact that you just *killed them*
Why?
warnings: character death, blood, death of a sibling, murder of a sibling, intense guilt, angst, no comfort, just pain and misery and sadness :(
Hero had finally managed to land the finishing blow. Villain was on the ground, gasping for air, blood pooling around them. Hopefully, they wouldn't rise from this again.
Hero stumbled towards Villain, the former panting and clutching a wound of their own. There was one last thing the crimefighter wanted to do before moving on to Supervillain. What did Villain look like beneath the mask?
Villain weakly rasped:
-Don't…
It was as if they could sense what their nemesis was about to do. It was infuriating to have a criminal always be a step ahead, but it would soon be finished.
Hero crouched near Villain, putting a foot on their hand just in case. The latter begged again:
-No.
-Shut up. You're just a criminal.
Without further ado, Hero took the mask off in one smooth motion.
For a moment, shock overtook the crimefighter. Their brain refused to recognise those eyes that had seen them in all the steps of their life, those freckles that were always just a little more numerous than Hero's, those cheeks that looked so much like their own…
Something snapped and twisted inside Hero. They finally gasped.
The mask fell to the ground.
It felt like the world was ending.
Ugly sobs tore through them as they took their oldest sibling in their arms. As they cradled them, carded through their hair. Sibling were already so, so cold. Still they tried to smile, but it came out as a pained grimace.
Sibling tried to raise their arm, Hero took their hand and placed it on their own cheek. The latter lamented:
-But why? Why?
