"I think I'm having sympathy pains from Mom's treatments." Renee said as she felt her stomach turn and she put down her turkey sandwich. She was out to lunch with Ruby and it was nice knowing she could lean on the other woman a little. However, her stomach certainly wasn't liking the food despite her wanting it desperately when they got in there and she had to cover her nose a little bit. "Mom's really going through it and I swear it's getting to me too."

Ingrid had been on the move since she came to Kismet Harbor. If she wasn't at the hospital, she would go visit her dad or do things around the house for her mom or run errands around town. She wouldn't sit still long enough to let the grief totally consume her. Nights were bad enough as she laid in her sister's bed, but usually she had worn herself out enough that she fell asleep easily with The Vampire Diaries playing in the background. Today was one of the days she found herself running around town and as she came out of the flower shop, she almost ran into someone. "Oh, I'm..." She trailed off as she looked up and saw her friend. "Ruby."

It was a slow day at the inn, but it was expected with the time of year. While people were on spring break, most went somewhere warm and sunny and Kismet Harbor wasn't really that at the moment. Sure, there were some coming through and she had some rooms taken, but it wasn't like it was in the summer. She took this time to do catch up on some deep cleaning and she was currently working on the lobby when she heard the door open. "Welcome in." She said with a smile as she put a vase down and turned to greet who came in. "I... Ruby?" She asked and her smile increased as she rushed to hug the younger woman. "Oh, my god. When did you get in?"

It had been a few days since Renee found out about her mom's diagnosis. The words were still repeating in her head and she felt trapped in it like she had no where to turn to to talk. Sure, she had her brother, but he too was dealing with bombshell their mother dropped and it was hard to just sit and talk. She needed to get things off her mind and so she ended up walking the beach that afternoon. As she did, she spotted a familiar face and felt some relief to see Ruby, but also not since she wasn't sure if her mom had even told the other woman yet. It just made things more complicated. "Ruby, hey." Renee said as she approached. "How are you?"

"Thank you for helping today." Renee said as she sat down on a chair out back of her mom's place and rubbed her bump. Her daughter was moving inside of her and a soft smile came to her face despite how stressed and exhausted she felt. She had asked Ruby to come over and help her clean up the backyard a little bit so her mom could sit outside. Her mom hadn't had the energy herself to get the patio all set up for the summer and Renee certainly couldn't lift anything nor did she want to wait for Zach to get off work. And then by the time they were done, her mom had fallen asleep and she wasn't about to wake her. So, her and Ruby were at least able to enjoy the patio. "I really appreciate it. I just want everything going good for her, you know?"

Exhaustion had started to take over Lexi. Between going from her sister to her mother-in-law, she was sure she had seen every part of the hospital like she had when she was a nurse there. She had finally got back to the waiting room in the ICU and she rubbed her neck before spotting Ruby there. She gave a soft smile to her sister-in-law and then nodded towards the door. "Wanna join me in the cafeteria? I'm in need of coffee."
