Clymene pretended she didn't hear Epimetheus stomp his way to her, not to ignore him but play a game with her youngest son. Leaving him for an extending period of time was out of the question for the titaness. He was her last baby and she wanted to treasure every moment she could with him. He thrived off of her attention and he wanted for nothing.

As she felt his touch on her legs, she stood still for a moment before she feigned a surprised look on her face. "Epi darling! Where have you been? I missed you!" She yelped before she kneeled down to grab him and squeeze him against her body. "Your father has business on the Mount today and brought Atlas and Menoetius with him. Prometheus is napping. And you know how long he sleeps! So you'll just have me for the day. What should we do, little one?" She continued before kissing the top of his head with his bushy hair.

  Before Clymene made her presence known to the newlyweds, she adjusted herself and fixed her hair to make herself perfectly presentable especially if there were other guests...not that she expected any. It was a habit she couldn’t get rid of: refining her self image. She was the bright shiny jewel amongst her rough and messy pack of sons, a juxtaposition that didn’t annoy her. They all were true to themselves, presenting what they wanted to the world.

 Clymene used to causally enter her son’s home; however he was a married man now. Forcibly so but still married. Her sons weren’t exactly taught proper manners to announcing themselves until they found themselves walking in on their parents in a lewd state. At least their family developed a system to avoid such awkwardness and with a married son, perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to implant it now. That is...if Epimetheus and Pandora connected on a physical level already. 

  The titaness had absolutely no idea how the pair got along for the past couple of weeks. She reckoned she would give them their space as newlyweds but a month almost passed away and she was far too curious about her son and his new bride to keep her curiosity suppressed. Besides, she believed Epimetheus missed her and Pandora needed to see another face apart from her son’s and who better than her mother in law...who still was suspicious of her daughter in law. 

  Knocking on the door with knuckles quite loudly, Clymene also made herself known by announcing her presence. “Surprise! Epi darling, it’s your mother. I’ve come to crash your honeymoon!” She exclaimed. Epimetheus answering the door in one piece would ease her worries that anything unnerving happened during his honeymoon. She was still waiting for some awful thing to happen with Zeus’s gift, believing he had a plan to further ruin her youngest son. She kept her ears peeled to anything in regards to Pandora and Epimetheus but she came up with nothing. 

  “Please open the door, Epi.” She thought to herself as if she could mentally summon him to the entrance of his home.

   “Prometheus is going to join Kronos’ offspring. Your brothers will be fighting against each other along with your father...I never thought I would see a day like this.” Clymene mused as she heard Epimetheus’ footsteps. The titaness believed her family would stay on one side, all together fighting for Kronos as they were titans, but she was proved wrong. Would her youngest follow in the footsteps of his father or his crafty brother?

    “Have you chosen a side, Epi?”

@asoulunbound​ asked:  "I feel kind of honored that my brothers stole my idea and created daughters of their own," Epi's lips curved into a lopsided grin. "But they are not as cool as Prophasis!"

  Clymene pinched his cheek, giving him a similar smile. “You’re a trendsetter, Epi Darling! And no one beats the original,” She chuckled. “You know, that would have been useful years ago. Your brothers could have avoided their divorces if they just spawned their offspring without their ex wives!” The titaness chuckled as she released Epimetheus’s cheek. She pasued, thinking about what could have possibly happened and then shook her head. “On second thought, that may have given me more responsibilities and more children to raise. I stopped with you for a reason.” She exclaimed.

  The titaness then patted her hand against his cheek before pressing a soft kiss to it. “I had to save the best for last, Epi darling.” And that wasn’t an exaggeration. Raising Epimetheus compared to his older brothers proved easier and much more enjoyable. It helped that he was an adorable baby who adored her and it was easy to overlook his issue with wanting to eat everything. One might think her experience with Epimetheus would make her want more children but having another just like him wouldn’t happen. Each of her children were unique despite their common chaotic tenacities. Four was enough especially when she didn’t plan to have any in the first place. 

  “Now...we’ll just have to see if Meno follows in your footsteps once he’s freed!” Clymene mused before laughing. “Could you imagine? Meno having a kid in general. Maybe you should just give him a dog or a bear...panther. He should stick to animals and luckily for him, he has you for that!”

  “Broke?” Clymene repeated with a disgusted look on her face. Her heart was broken undoubtedly. Watching her husband and eldest son glare at her with disappointment and betrayal before they were sent to their disgraced punishments haunted her. Their eyes burned into her very being and there wasn’t a day that that image didn’t replay in her mind. She kept her titan status and her domains; however, any special privileges she possessed as The Lady of the West was stripped from her. 

  At least she could be thankful her parents, her two youngest sons and favorite sisters weren’t harmed during the course of the ten years. She still lost Menoetius, gone with a flash into the bowels of Tartarus. She lost greatly despite siding with the victors of the Titanomachy and she didn’t want to display that before anyone. And for as much as other wanted to ridicule Epimetheus for his scatter brain, he knew his mother well. He was intuitive when it came to their family, an annoyance but a blessing. 

  Clymene couldn’t dwell in self pity and do nothing after the war. Rhea had already fled with little warning, leaving others to guide her children. No, Clymene would always prevail and find something to attach herself to to keep her relevant. Fame could be mortal but renown had its immortality. She would endure; if she listened to anything her parents taught her, it was survival. She was just a water nymph once who earned her titaness status and she would once again evaluate herself. She wasn’t in a hurry though; she had time on her side. 

  Her disgust wavered into a childish smirk and shook her head. “I don’t need any fixing. Neither do you or Prometheus. We just need time. Time to settle ourselves into this new age of Olympians.” She affirmed before her smirk simmered. Her face grew serious but sentimental thinking of their family as a whole. “And time to figure out how we get your brothers and father back!”

  Clymene playfully flicked her youngest son on the tip of his nose all while she scrunched up hers, further taunting Epimetheus for his remark. While Clymene never talked in depth about Menoetius's lack of romantic and sexual pursuits, she believed he held little interest in such things. Not looking for love Clymene could understand from personal experience but not even physical attraction? Clymene was a sexual creature and she thought her sons would inherit such a powerful trait as much of their family was but not everyone in their pantheon cared for intercourse. 

  If anything brought Meno desire, it was war. Chaos. Fighting. Bloodshed. Violence. He was very much his father’s son: he thought with his fists. And if that was the sole thing that made him happy, how could she feel sorry for him? 

  “If Meno was gay, I’m sure we would all know about it.” Clymene remarked with a shake of her head. “Perhaps he doesn’t want anyone. Or perhaps he hasn’t met his perfect person yet. We do have high standards in this family,” She chuckled before pressing a kiss to Epi’s nose. Her own little apology. ”Meno’s always been more of a fighter than a lover anyway. I might have to kiss the feet of whoever makes him settle down for achieving such an impossible task!”

  “Epi darling, you don’t trust me. Why...I’ve hurt!” Clymene replied as she feigned a look of offense as she puckered her lips. She stepped closer to her son and sat her hands on each on his shoulders. She leaned her face to close but still with enough space between the pair. Her lips turned into a sly smile as she was impressed with her own scheming. Prometheus would be proud of his mother’s own craftiness but perhaps he inherited it from her all along. She had to use her own wits and skills of seduction to scheme herself into possessing the heart of the mightiest titan after all.  

  “I’ve thought of a way to free our Prometheus. The strong and mighty son of Zeus, Heracles, will break his chains. Zeus punished your brother but he also created a demigod to release him! Unknowingly...but not to us!” Clymene exclaimed, beaming with pride. The demigod’s power was growing exponentially and freeing a titan...or two would only add to accomplishments. How could he refuse such challenges? “His strength compares to Atlas...perhaps he can find a way to free him as well. We just need to convince him. Perhaps the gift of immortality through fame shall entice Zeus’s son! And to add of infamous list of labors!”

"μαμά!" The look on Epimetheus' face disclosed that he had come with big news. Before Clymene had the chance to even welcome her son, he continued excitedly. "Dora's pregnant. I'm going to be a father!" The Titan came to a halt, realizing just now what those words actually meant. "Fuck! I'm going to be a father."

Clymene automatically smiled when Epimetheus beckoned for her; his own excitement spread to her. It had been a while since she last saw her son so any news would surprise her. She wanted to greet him properly with a kiss and a hug but he spit out the new so fast, it made her pause.

Her dark brown eyes widened with instant shock to the news. She wasn't expecting to hear that. Having children was always a possibility for them; however, she didn't think it would happen so soon. While Pandora was mortal, she was still young and had many years of child bearing ahead of her. She at least thought years would pass before her son and daughter in law planned on expanding their family, much like with her and Iapetus.

"I...uh...wow," Clymene murmured, unsure of how to respond especially given his own reaction to the words he spoke. "So, did you two plan this pregnancy or it's an unexpected surprise? Well, how can it be unexpected really? Sex can lead to pregnancy if no birth control is involved. Your father and I were clear about that."

Clymene bit her lip, pursing her lips feeling like she said the wrong thing. She should be happy but reality kicked in, thinking what would wait her grandchild. Half mortal and the child of Pandora, a scorned woman who brought horrors to humanity. They could be ridiculed or judged for things they had no control over but at least, they had a grandmother who would protect them at all costs.

"I'm sorry, Epi. I know should be saying congratulations but it's just a huge shock. I didn't think I would ever hear you say such a thing. My baby is having a baby...holy shit!" Clymene exclaimed as she placed her hands on his cheeks and rested her forehead against his. "How is Pandora doing? How far along is she with the pregnancy?" She asked him as she leaned away from him a little.
