“You can’t blame me for being surprised, my love,” Pet replied, the same teasing cadence in his voice. Clymene was the only one allowed to talk to him this way outside a few chosen others. Mostly his sisters and Hyperion. “But it is a very welcome surprise, and you are right, we did work hard to make it happen.” Although he would never describe fucking his wife as work, even if it was always passionate and wild.
The Titan caressed her stomach with his thumb. Even without Rhea’s confirmation, Iapetus trusted Clymene. If she said she was pregnant, there was no reason to distrust her judgment. “I hope they will make it as easy as possible for you.” While it had gotten better with every pregnancy, he knew how much she had despised being with child, especially during the end of it. And Atlas and Menoetius had not made it easy for her. Although Menoetius had only gotten worse once he was born. Rash from the first moment. Destroying everything around him. Making his father proud. Meanwhile, Prometheus was giving his parents less trouble. One reason they thought they could handle a second child so soon. And they had gotten better with every child, too. Iapetus had never thought he would enjoy being a father as much as he did.
“I would love that. We visit Mount Othrys together next time anyone expects my presence.” He chuckled. “Disappointed our little Pro will have to wait longer for his playmate. I don’t mind putting some more hard work into it. Even if you’re pregnant already.”
"Perhaps truly surprised if we weren't planning another baby. But it did happen rather quickly. We work fast. Chaos, this must be how my parents are!" Clymene cried out before laughing and sticking out her tongue in childish disgust. She used to despise her parents constant pregnancies, just more children to take away attention from her. But with her own children, she had specific plans for them. Strong and powerful warriors. Chaotic titans to spread havoc and further their parents domains. They would give her more notoriety, furthering her title as a titaness.
But her selfish ambitions didn't block her from truly loving her sons. With Atlas, it took time to adjust to motherhood. And it became easier to bond and love with each of their sons. And with Iapetus as an attentive and present father, the decision for multiple offspring was simple. They were an interesting pair as parents but their children were happy and loved by the titans. As chaotic as their household was, it made them happy. Never a dull moment.
"Listen to your father. But listen to me more," Clymene affirmed, looking down to her stomach with a smirk before lifting her face to look upon her husband. She smiled at him before pressing her body against his, embracing him warmly. Her lips brushed themselves against his beard before kissing his lips, lingering there for a moment before releasing them to speak again. "Sounds like a plan. And perhaps we could convince Rhea to look after the boys for a little while? Since you plan on working extra hard! You are going to try for more, aren't you? Twins...triplets...a whole litter!" Clymene teased him as she playfully slapped his shoulder. But then her face grew serious with gentle eyes.
The titaness pondered something after considering a fourth child and she didn't believe Iapetus would argue with her on the matter. After all, it was ultimately her decision to have children in the first place. "As much as I am shocked to say this given my attitude about it when we first married, I do love having children with you, Iapetus. I never thought we'd be parents, let alone me getting pregnant in the first place. But I think this should be our last one." She suggested to him. "Four seems like a good number. I'd prefer to be able to count all our children on one hand. And none of your siblings will ever bug us about having offspring again. Besides my parents, we will have the most!"
