@stingslikeabee asked: [ teach ] sender, an expert at something, takes time to teach receiver how it works and how they can get better at it, too (let's have him asking for assistance re. how to properly cast a spell and stand real close to the teacher - classical trope, yknow 8D nevermind he already knows how to do it)
Fiyero's not so much of an egomaniac that he doesn't realize he should be at least a bit ashamed of what he's doing. He's perfectly aware that it's a rather questionable action. However, he is shallow enough to go on with it anyway, if only to uphold his reputation as a scoundrel.
At least, that's the story he's telling himself.
And, truthfully, it's all he needs to tell himself as he leans in perhaps a tad too closely to look upon the result of a properly casted spell to create a foggy cover over the table. While Fiyero may not apply himself in school as much as he ought to, these types of spells were ones he's gotten down to a science in his teens- a foggy cover made it quite easy to sneak out of his quarters, after all. The lesson, however, gives him enough of an excuse to linger closely to Melissa. A little accidental brush of the hand or shoulder here, a little step closer there, and soon enough he'll be able to work his charm on her.
"That's incredible," he praised easily, charming smile on his lips as he meets her gaze. "Though, watching you do it, I'm afraid I'm unsure of what I'm doing incorrectly. Perhaps it's my pronunciation of the incantation? Or do you think that it's the movements of my hands?"
