Getting ready to have someone over was a new experience for Violet, normally when she wanted to see people, she went out to see them, but she’d promised Dylan a quiet environment for them to work together, so she’d made sure it was okay with Scott before texting Dylan the address. As she got ready for him to come over, she’d cleaned the patio off, not that it was particularly messy, but she’d thrown all of the inflatable animals she’d bought off the internet into the pool, and had swept up the leaves before she brought a cooler full of ice and snacks outside and then carried out the charcuterie board she’d made. It was nice to put together something for someone who actually needed to eat, not that Scott didn’t appreciate eating, he just didn’t really need to all the time.
When the doorbell rang, Wednesday, in true Pomeranian fashion began to bark and Violet walked over to the front door and after shushing the small fluffy dog, she opened the door. Wednesday immediately ran out the front door and began to sniff at the feet and ankles of the stranger and Violet sighed, they still had some work to do apparently. “Sorry,” she said to Dylan. “She’s still learning, she’s only a year old,” she explained. “But come on in,” she held the door open wider. “She’ll follow you inside.”
