porter house party maggie & will @knewitalls
Like a moth seeking out the light, Maggie always found her way to Will when things were difficult. And now things were difficult. Her mind rolled with scenario after scenario of how this all plays out, her imagination painting a gruesome, bloody end for her, for the others, for Will. It made her sick, the thought alone enough to cause tears cling to her dark lashes, blurring her vision as she sat outside the house party leaning on the hood of her car. She stared at the front door, the light illuminating the partygoers like faceless things moving through the music loud enough to hear from her car down the driveway. She tilted her head towards Will, wiped at her eyes carefully, not wanting to smear the makeup she had put on like armor, not wanting to cry. Not wanting to be here.
She'd much rather be at Will's, hiding from the world, from this party that felt tacky even through given everything. The weight of the endless word sagging her shoulders forward, Maggie exhaled, a plume of fog dissipating in front of her face. "Do you have any New Year's resolutions?" She asked, cutting through the fear she felt with something akin to hope, a smile that came naturally warm. She looked again to her best friend, allowing the house and odd text and horror of Amelia's death blot out momentarily. A few minutes before going into the chao she thought. It could be enough to keep her grounded. It would have to be.
