Hey ! I just saw your comment on our little movie project (Denise). just wanted to say we're french so I may have made mistakes while translating denise's pitch. I thought it was important to tell you that we had to fight for the movie to be like this, because teachers expected us to treat the main character's obesity as something ugly or a comic relief, when the main point is that she's beautiful and strong. I edited my post to make the 'problem' clear : it's not her weight, it's the troubles..

… she has with it. the fact that she can’t move, is tired really easily. But she’s stubborn and I can assure you her weight will never be looked as something funny or dramatic in the movie !

Fat doesn't automatically equal unhealthy/out of shape, but I understand the story that you're telling, and I'm glad that you were all able to stick to the heart of it. :]

Exaccctly. (Don't get me wrong that shit is as hilarious as it is cray) but realistically, it's not a good way to engage in critical discourse. Not even in a "tone argument" way, because I'm down with emotions and feelings and anger in a discussion. It's that immediate, perpetual shutdown LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU WHITE IDENTIFIER LOL U STUPID KBURD that gets me.  The thing is, Riley will (ON RARE OCCASION) say things that are right on the money and be BOMBARDED WITH HAET, but that does not mean every fucking thing they say has merit. I think it's because you never use a "to me" or "I think" disclaimer. You always use very final, very conclusive language and go "IT IS BAD" and rather than state it like an opinion (which it is) you state it as an indisputable fact, (which it isn't) which in turn leaves it open for debate. This is how examinations work! 

I think that plays into that time when you were writing that one crit. thinking essay and said "I would never write an essay like this!" and I was like "BUT WHY that is how you write the essay" and somehow I think it plays into your need for facts (ala Alice In Wonderland) so I think that's just how your brain does things which is cool I think that's the closest I'll get to understanding it xD
