HUNTR/X kibbe body types 🌟

based on david kibbe’s styling book “metamorphosis” which offers a 13-body-type system which can also be applied to movie characters. if you need an introduction to the theory, here’s an overview.

and now let’s get to the analysis results right away! 💖 typing them was so much fun actually 🥰

RUMI - soft dramatic

tall and narrow but with soft yin facial features and a streamlined hourglass typical for soft dramatic. the hairstyle being so voluminous and elongated also speaks for a soft dramatic design idea, as does her super glamorous and ornate styling. when she wears a hoodie we can see her lack of kibbe width, so she’s not flamboyant natural (that would be jinu’s type). i also rule out dramatic, the face would be more square instead of round and full. she has both yin and yang lines, that reflects in her characterization and with her demon marks as well, and soft dramatic movie characters often have a literal dramatic love subplot. it’s ejae’s kibbe type as well, interestingly.

MIRA - dramatic

another vertical type, but even more angular and narrow with a rectangular shoulder and torso/hip line. her elongated face with its razor sharp profile looks so snatched because dramatics have very defined bone structure and narrow chins/noses/eyes that usually points upward, a style that buccal fat removal, cheek implants, brow lifts, fox eye surgery, face lifts etc try to create nowadays, but only the big 3 yang types (D, SD, FN) and flamboyant gamines tend to have this look naturally. her long, sleek, pulled back hair is extreme yang. kibbe often talks about typecasting, mira reflects how deadpan and direct dramatics are often portrayed very well (think lauren bacall). tallest in the group, her type was the easiest to pinpoint.

ZOEY - soft gamine

gamines stand out by being the most petite type, and they are narrow in build like their tall dramatic counterparts and combine the rounded facial features of the romantic type with it, zoey perfectly encapsulates that. gamines being smaller D types shows in how long her legs appear, and how angular her shoulder line is. i deliberated between subtypes, but she can wear waist emphasis, and her face is mostly yin, so it’s soft gamine. space buns are the telltale gamine character hairstyle, as are crop tops, and a firecracker movie characterization/typecast, gamines are the spitfire type.

NOTE / there are no official heights for them which would help with typing (imo even with human fictional characters that applies), so i based it on subjective impression and how the movie makers designed their physical frames. on stage, the group is usually dressed in a soft gamine way with cropped garments, but that is due to gamine and their style being the ideal body type in the kpop industry in both girl and boy groups. but generally, SG -> SD -> D would be the height progression in kibbe’s system.

isn’t it insane that there are people of different races and body types and genders and support needs and physical abilities and languages and religions and cultures and sexualities and some people will try to convince you that it’s bad?

i don’t care that shes Black or he’s deaf or pup uses “weird” pronouns. i don’t care that they need an aac or that she needs a wheelchair. i don’t care what god he worships or what language xe speak. i think humans are beautiful no matter how different or similar we are, and i think the only dangerous people are the ones who try to convince us to hate.
