What I lately discovered: Mary and Garry have many things in common. Their names are pretty similiar, both are or become paintings (Forgotten Painting ending anyone?), they act a little childish. Mary’s favourite color is blue, therefore Garry and his rose. They both like/love/care for Ib, even though Mary gets very drastic. But also, she mostly wants to hurt Garry, not Ib.
If you think about it and mix some theories: Garry could be a real person and maybe connected to Guertena, but something could have happened, so Garry isn’t staying like the other works in the gallery. Mary could be a dream daughter of the artist. Maybe they were even sister and brother, the kids of Guertena, if you look on how they got along before Mary got crazy and as I said before, even Garry acts sometimes like a kid. There is also the thing, that Ib is like a little “out of the thing”, just a little girl who got into a painted world together with a man, who could be connected with it, but maybe lost his memory? Also, Ib NEVER becomes a painting, even in the Ib All Alone ending.
