Did you see Michelle Williams campaign for Louis Vuitton? Isn't that the sort of look you would expect for a brand like Dior to approach someone like Lawrence? You were the one who made me pay attention to this, but really, it seems they don't know what they're doing:/
i was about to answer the reply to so ill just post both if you dont mind!
interiorsporn replied to your post:Why do you hate dior?
I agree. She is gorgeous and they make her look boring. There’s nothing bold or interesting about the image they’re selling (wasn’t this an attempt to reach the younger consumers?)
i agree with this and the question you asked in the end, i stand by that too. they just dont understand their audience if they think by putting jennifer as the face of dior will make them trending, imo the whole campaign has failed at reaching the young crowd they obviously aim the products to, i just cant see it, specially because her red carpet looks are mostly a huge miss for thousands of reasons, ranging from WRONG SIZE to horrible details (the fishnet, the sequins, fabric hanging from the gown for no reason etc) and all of that by branding it as “haute couture…” if that is haute couture, then i dont understand it and im glad i dont cause it looks cheap and tacky as hell
yes i did see michelle’s campaign and i think too thats the vibe they want to sell, but they cant with jennifer because she’s too young for the maison, and she gets way too photoshopped to look a real person (tho this time around they kept her moles, it’s a progress)
i dont know but whenever i look at dior dresses is just not the right style for her, it’s “too old for her” to put it lightly (and thats why michelle’s campaign works better imo)
they should do something more like what chanel is doing with kristen, less serious and more playful with more editorial photoshoots, but considering this is the third ad campaign and it doesnt differ from the previous ones, i doubt it will happen, sadly
