pattern difficulty: intermediate-advanced

yarn weights can be substituted for anything in the 2-3 range. I used a lot of the weird semi-elastic mystery weight yarn from a bunch of crochet kits

ONCE AGAIN I FORGOT SOMETHING. THE SAFETY EYES ARE 7.5 MM. PUT THOSE IN BEFORE YOU FINISH THE HEAD. BETWEEN R4 AND R5

Pug Ornament

This was a very quick pattern invented as a gift for my uncle (avid lover of pugs). It was later suggested to me that a bigger mouth and using beads for eyes might have looked better, but here’s the pattern for the ornament in the picture. There’s a tiny tail in the back (done in round 9) but I gave it away before I thought of taking a picture of it. 

Difficulty: Intermediate

Yarn: (All light weight) Beige, Brown, Black, Red (or wire hook)

Hook size: 3.5

Stitches used: chain, single crochet, bobble stitch

Round 1: ch 2, 6sc in second ch from hook. (6)

Round 2: 2sc in each st around. (12)

Round 3: (2sc, 1sc in next st) around. (18)

Round 4: (2sc, 1sc in each of next 2st) around. (24)

Round 5-7: sc in each st around. (24)

Round 8: 1sc in first 7 st, 1 bobble st, 1sc in next 7 st, 1 bobble st, 1sc in last 8 st. (24)

Round 9: 1 sc in first 23 st, ch 2, 1 sl st in second ch from hook, 1 sc. (24)

Round 10-11: sc in each st. (24)

Round 12: 1sc in first 9 st, 1 bobble st, 1 sc in each of next 4 st, 1 bobble st, 1 sc in last 9 st. (24)

Round 13: (sc2tog, 1sc in next st) around. Begin stuffing. (16)

Round 14: sc2tog around. (8)

Round 15: sc2tog around. (4)

Fasten off. 

Using brown yarn, stitch on a mouth and two ears. 

Using black yarn, stitch on eyes. 

Using red yarn, hook a strand through the top of the ornament and tie both ends together to make a loop to hang it. If preferred, use a wire hook.
