i have a question about if my experiences count as forced HRT or not...
when i was 11-12 i talked to my therapist about how i was questioning my gender. after an eval with my doctor they had me see an endocrinologist, who tested my hormones & proceeded to make the entire appointment revolve around my future fertility and puberty (despite me originally going for gender affirming care)
i told the doctor i would not take anything hormonal because i didnt want my body to look different (i was physically androgynous at this time) and she reassured me the medication was entirely nonhormonal and meant to stop "unwanted puberty effects" which i interpreted in a gender affirming way...
i later on discovered that i had been given a hormonal, progestin-based birth control often used in feminization therapy. at no point was i informed of this. prior to taking the medication, i was flat-chested & did not menstruate. after a couple months of taking the medication, both of those factors changed. i would regularly tell my endocrinologist i was not happy with the medication, but she would stress the importance of me taking it. i still doubt if this is forced HRT or not, because the medication is technically a birth control. has anyone else experienced similar? is this forced HRT?
the birth control in question was a depoprovera introject that i was made to take for 4 years, in case anyone has info on this specifically
This is intersexism and transmisia.
And yes, in short, this 100% counts as forced HRT / CIMI. This is actually horrific. I'm so sorry.
