Internal Healing
Fiction gets all the credit for offering comfort to people in times of need. And yeah, it does sometimes, but I often find more hope in non-fiction.
This may be the writer in me.
I just finished a short memoir style piece about an emotional breakdown. It’s not my fav thing to focus on. My bi-polar issues aren’t who I am, nor the majority of why I write.
Instead of, “bleeding on the page” I find better metaphors in the positive energy that writing about surviving the darkest days brings. My writing does not bleed, it lends me wings.
