4. favourite dish specific for your country?

This one is hard because I love every single one of our specific dishes, but I gotta say it.

12. what do you think about English translations of your favourite native prose/poem?

I... don't think I’ve ever read an English translation of an Italian poem?? I now read quickly “L’infinito” by Leopardi (”The Infinite” in English) and it was quite good, but I should look more into all the translations to actually have an opinion. 

I know for sure, though, that it’s never easy to translate and that something always goes missing during the translation, especially with a language like Italian which is so poetic and particular, you know? But I appreciate the effort because it’s good that everyone can have the opportunity to read amazing pieces.

20. which sport is The Sport in your country?

djskajflkashfa Football. I don’t like it, so that’s just luck for me, huh. 😂

30. do you have people of different nationalities in your family?

I don’t, but my best friend in the world has Peruvian origins so that counts, right? XD She’s like a sister to me!

Mmmh, I wouldn’t say so. There is, though, this stupid rivalry amongst close towns, it’s pretty common in Italy. It’s like, it doesn’t have a historic connotation, it’s just... spite because they’re your neighbours? It’s silly, and we actually only joke about it ahahah

Hey anon! Thanks for sending me this and sorry it took me so long to do!

🍬 - cola bottles in a classic 10p mix up! To me, that’s summer holidays with my best friends, being allowed to go down to the shop on the corner on our own and coming back with little white paper bags of sweets.

📺 - I struggled a bit with this one because the thing that immediately sprang to mind isn’t something regional to where I’m from. But my choice is the film One Fine Day because it reminds me of watching it with my mum when I was off sick from school. Is still a comfort film.

🖊️ - so I’m from Ireland and whilst I would never normally listen to it just around my house or whatever, there is nothing better than a cosy pub with some traditional music and everyone packed in.

🍴 - if we’re being regionally specific then I’d have to pick potato bread as part of a proper Ulster fry. Not like it was the kind of breakfast you’d have all the time but there is something so comfortingly home about it (and you just can’t get a good version of potato bread in England - where I live now! - I always have to bring it back over when I’ve been home 😂)

2 Do you prefer spending your holidays in your country or travel abroad?

I prefer spending them abroad

yet that requires time and the money to do it

. Last year I went to Vienna and Stockholm.

Though Vienna doesn’t really feel like abroad as people still at least kind of speak my language…

14 Do you enjoy your country’s cinema and/or TV?

Well… sometimes. I like this one director, Borah Dagtekin, who does this kind of always the same pretty flat comedy stuff with always the same 5 actors, but it’ s pretty funny. (e.g. Doctor’s Diary, Turkish for Beginners, Suck me Shakespeare

this one is actually made it to US cinemas

) Also the essence of german television seems to be ‘Tatort’, a Thriller series that aired in 1970 and has 1058 episodes so far, one beeing shown every sunday at 8:15pm. They episodes are set in different cities, and I like the agents from Münster, they’re pretty funny.

And they did this.

And last but not least we do have some rare really good films like ‘The live of the others’ which actually won ‘best foreign film’ at the 2007 Oscars. But there is a lot of pretty terrible stuff as well

for example pretty much everything with Matthias Schweighöfer in it…

25 Would you like to come from another place, be born in another country? 

Nope, not really…

30 Do you have people of different nationalities in your family?

Not that I’d know of, unfortunately.

I was always jealous of the kids who could visit their foreign relatives during holidays while all I got was to visit my grandma who lived exactly 7 kilometres away…
