In honor of Programmer’s Day, we’re sharing an image of two of the very first programmers: Elizabeth “Betty” Snyder Holberton and Kathleen “Kay” McNulty Mauchly. During World War II, Betty, Kay, and four other women, all chosen for their backgrounds in mathematics, programmed the ENIAC, the first general-purpose electronic computer.
