Will Bahasa Indonesia Become an International Language?
As the world becomes more connected, there's growing curiosity about whether Bahasa Indonesia could one day become an international language. Spoken by over 270 million people, it's already one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Its simplicity, lack of verb conjugation, and absence of grammatical gender make it easier to learn compared to many other languages.
Indonesia's rising influence in Southeast Asia and its growing economy have also helped boost the prominence of the language. However, English still dominates international trade, media, and communication, making it a challenge for Bahasa Indonesia to expand its global reach. But who knows? With Indonesia’s increasing global presence, there’s potential for the language to spread even further.
