Interpreting Draconis
Draco, the Deaf son of a wealthy businessman, has always had the best of everything, including a habit for rapid signing and a reputation for having a short fuse. When his father disappears, the interpreters who have been on the receiving end of Draco's attitude and temper refuse to work for him. Enter Harry, our 'new on the block' interpreter with a heart of gold, exemplary skills, and a few secrets in his pocket.

A great little oneshot that takes a completely different spin from any other fic I’ve read. Harry and Draco feel fresh despite being completely in character and their interaction is just lovely. The level of research that went into this piece gives it a level of believability and realism that’s missing in a lot of stories. A personal favorite, the interactions and flow of this story are great and the development of Harry and Draco's relationship is believable. If you like AUs, this is one you’ve GOT to read.

A brilliantly unique fic, beautiful and well-researched. The AU plot if creative, heart warming and intelligent—most importantly, it’s non-magic trait does not distract from the story, but rather adds to it.
Wonderfully written, Harry’s narrative voice is clear and admirable in character; to the point, faintly awkward and unassuming. The writing style is smooth, seamless and every word is a delight on my style-critical brain.
Draco is more of less canon and his portrayal will satisfy most readers, despite my personal craving for a harder Draco, especially considering that I believe that dealing with a disability his entire life would more than likely make him more rash, rather than soften him in the way this interpretation has.
The length and flow is comfortable and satisfying. The ending, unrushed and not desperate to tie up all loose ends, which gives it a maturity some fics lack.
A touching ending—one that will melt the hearts of the romantically inspired.

I liked the idea of the story and how the author did research to make things more realistic,
giving the readers an insight about the Deaf community. I think the characters were portrayed really
well at the start but things became rushed and the character development I was looking for wasn't quite
evident. Harry’s portrayal was agreeable, but I found Draco to be a little too soft. Over all, it's an interesting and pleasant read.

Clocks slay time... Time is dead as long as it is being clicked off by little wheels; only when the clock stops does time come to life.
