decided to post here bc ik damn well that if i sent it to my intersexist pride uni group chat. sadly this came from experience i had fall of last year

it's just really sad how many perisex queers treat their intersex siblings all the time

"Dancing around the fact that I am intersex ignores my specific health needs." Yes, it does when you erase the disordered nature of our diagnosis. You're lucky you don't have any urinary issues and your bone density is good. Not every woman with CAIS is so lucky. Maybe don't rub your privilege in the faces of those with the same diagnosis with more health problems???

I do have urinary issues I struggle with a lot actually. I just don’t like to talk about them because I don’t want to be subjected to even more stigma because of it and infantilized even more than I am already due to my autism. Thanks for assuming things about me though.

It’s a deeply personal thing how you view your own intersex condition. And I’m not saying people have to love it and I’m not saying we shouldn’t talk about the negative health consequences/things associated with it and such of certain conditions because we need to talk about these things as a part of our fight for our rights, which is vital to fighting medical discrimination and fighting for our rights to make informed, non coercive medical decisions.

I just don’t view certain things associated with my CAIS as my CAIS itself. They’re side effects, but all my CAIS is in and of itself is that I have XY chromosomes, but can’t process androgens so have a female phenotype.

And I do think it’s also important we talk about the cool things about our conditions too. For example, with CAIS we’re much less likely to develop acne, and we tend not to have body odour when we sweat in the same way people do because we don’t make oils in the same way. Like that’s a thing I like and celebrate and it’s a side effect of CAIS too.

possibly a bit of a hot take here but i think those photos of naked intersex babies that show up anytime you look up something intersex-related should be seen as CSEM

you think your baby might have clitoromegaly? measure it. you think your baby might have a micropenis? measure it. you don’t know if those measurements qualify? ask an intersex person. why tf do you need a whole ass picture of another naked baby to make sure that your baby is “normal”? more importantly, why is the shape of your child’s genitals so important to you?

i think taking a photo of a baby’s genitals, no matter how “weird” they might seem, is sexual exploitation. we have medical diagrams of what this looks like. we don’t need to abuse kids to satiate our curiosity.

perisex trans folk are obsessed with telling intersex trans folk how we can identify and what traumas we have and what our experiences can be and im sick of it. no my variant did not give me a head start on transition. no you shouldn't be jealous of the years of forced hormones that repeatedly almost killed me what is wrong with you. no you cannot transition to intersex, you are looking for ambisex or another term for androgyny. no, you do not get to say amab transmascs and afab transfems are cissies stealing your valor, those terms describe intersex experiences. no, the mutilations intersex folks undergo in early childhood are not bottom surgery, it leaves us scarred and sexually dysfunctional. if you can't listen to us then shut up about us.

Something that's always bothered me in this community as someone who is intersex with Hyperandrogenic PCOS is how advocates and other intersex people make a point to ONLY include Hyperandrogenic PCOS as intersex, but not the whole variation. It shows that there's a poor understanding of what PCOS is, and it's exclusionary. Other even medically recognized variations come with a spectrum of symptoms. For example, CAH/NCAH, which PCOS is quite literally a sibling variation of, is a spectrum. Not everyone with CAH/NCAH is visibly hyperandrogenic. Some people with CAH live with the more medical and disabling aspects, but not the secondary sex characteristics, but we don't go around saying, "Only people with CAH who have hyperandrogenic traits are intersex." Because that would be ignorant and bigoted, so why is it okay to do to PCOS?

I'm amab transmascfem and intersex.

I had to to fight (and still have to) to claim my femininity and my masculinity.

And for some reason a few perisex trans people decided it's ok to shit on us with sentences like "you're not actually trans", " you have an unfair advantage" while others say "i wish i was intersex too so i had an easier transition".

Yes, for some people some parts of a transition might be easier.

But not for all of us. And having to undo what doctors did to a lot of us with unnecessary surgeries on our genitals and forced HRT as kids is not a privilege. It's medical abuse and malpractice.

A baby/child cannot consent to these practices.

I for sure did not and would not have consented.

Even in cases where some of us had the later preferred optics of their bottom parts already forced on them right after birth that doesn't mean they function properly.

I experience pain and/or discomfort most of the time and it gets worse whenever I get an erection. Not that I'm able to have one at all 50% of the time and even then I can only hope it lasts.

To me being intersex is part of my identity and i wouldn't change that if I could. I just wish doctors wouldn't have done what they did to me and that perisex people would stop only talking about or over us instead of talking with us.

We as a group of people don't have it automatically better or worse than others.

We don't have privilege or an unfair advantage over perisex trans people.

We're just people who struggle for freedom and equality like everyone else

So pls, start actually listening to us instead of treating us like shit.

And if you consider yourself an ally to intersex people pls speak up and educate others whenever you see other perisex people being intersexist or simply ignorant.
