What I loved about Namjoon’s UK interview

• Korean focus. I think it’s really really really hugely significant that as a company and artists, BigHit and Namjoon are doing what they’ve always done.

• It’s an imperialist attitude to even push artists from non Western backgrounds to think about doing more in ‘english’. This English interviewer isn’t the first to suggest anything like that, she won’t be the last. (Also it’s not her plan to ask that q it’s just how we’ve all internalised English=better). Namjoon’s intelligent, he’s more than able to realise this considering the man literally understands power imbalances as found in songs and him throughout interviews.

• I love how he politely told the interviewer that he’s proud of his Korean identity so Korean pop music will be the way forward.
