Interview Woes

How the hell do people give interviews and come out with fabulous results! Like how? Share your secret seriously.

I had a job interview today and my mind literally went blank as soon as the interviewee said, “so tell me a little bit about yourself”. It was just one simple question and so easy to answer, then why was I stumbling and lost for words - looked like an utter fool.

It was one of those moments where you can hear yourself speak, and your mind is telling your mouth to shut up because it’s not making sense, but the mouth just continues not heeding the cries of logic. Yea that was me the entire 15 minutes of that interview *sob*.

If my dad had seen me in such a phase, he would’ve glared and said, “what happened to all those years of debating and speech competitions that you insisted on doing - aren’t they supposed to be of some use to you know”.

I don’t know dad, that’s what I thought too - but apparently memorising 2+ pages of a speech to win a competition, isn’t quite enough to win an interview.
