Hey I wasn't going to ask this cause it's very situational, but I saw in your description that both an INTJ and INFP run this blog so I thought it'd be interesting. So two of my close friends had a HUGE falling out. They were roommates, best friends, and yes one is INTJ and the other is INFP. It was all pretty complicated tbh and mostly was a lot of bottled up stuff that finally bubbled over. But I was wondering what your thoughts were on how things could go so wrong between an INFP and INTJ?

Three years ago, I had a big fallout with one of my best friends – who was, actually, my closest friend then. I’m an INFP and he’s an INTJ, and it was AWFUL. And in our case, it was a lot of bottled up stuff that eventually bubbled over, too. It happened one night while we were texting and somehow things got super tense and we started fighting. Thing is, INTJs can be very very hurtful when they get mad because they don’t know how to handle their feelings, so they just shut you out. (Then he started blaming me for his loneliness and it was hell) I was crying and trembling and went to sleep feeling like death that night. Next morning, he just came up to me and said hi like nothing had happened, and I had a breakdown. Then I told him that I wanted to talk and he said that he didn’t care about me at all (more like “I don’t give a shit about you”). Long story short, it took me months to be able to be in his presence at all, and over a year to have a normal friendship again.

We INFPs and INTJs usually get along so easily. We just click. But we INFPs want to heal the people we love, and can be suffocating without noticing. And INTJs can feel easily suffocated, so they burst. And an INFP will dedicate you unconditional love if you earn it, unless you do something that really doesn’t align with their principles. Maybe it was something like that. Like you said, it’s very situational, but that’s what I gather from personal experience.
