Frankie Rose has played in some great indie rock groups like the Dum Dum Girls, Crystal Stilts, and Vivian Girls, but her latest solo record Herein Wild might be her greatest contribution to my iPod yet. Rose ups the lush ante for a glimmering fall record that relies heavily on goth-tinged janglers of old like the Church, the Cure, and the Damned (a stellar cover of the latter's "Street of Dreams" is in fact included). In this rooftop-shot vid here, Rose performs "Into Blue" and explains some of the makings behind the record including her unusual approach to lyrics. Herein Wild is out tomorrow via Fat Possum.
