yeah! I think there’s an interesting tension there too of like…… her distance/ guardedness is how she would protect herself in this line of work and, I’d imagine, it’s also meant to be her little act of defiance (a way she can keep something just for herself while being expected to give so much of herself to other people) ……. and yet it turns into a kind of twisted come hither to all these clients who, like you say, see it as a challenge.
