An apology you’ll say I don’t need to give you, and maybe I don’t but maybe I need to give one to me.
I’m sorry about all this doubt when your hands have been nothing but steady, when they hold me with no wavering even though I’m constantly looking for their shake. I’m sorry I’ve been searching you high and low for gaps in consistency, for moments you might falter if I press down on something that might hurt. I’m sorry for not believing what is certain in what you say, I have no reason not to. I’ve not returned the favour, in trying to find loopholes in your love I’ve been been flickering in and out of mine like a hologram. I want to say I’m sorry, that I always thought love was meant to hurt but you make it feel like it’s meant to heal.
