Peter B. Parker, a better Brand New Day
I just realized that in Into The Spider-Verse Peter B. Parker is basically like a meta critique on Dan Slott/post One More Day Peter Parker. It’s a version of Peter that’s getting older and has gotten divorced/separated from MJ and has started to become self-destructive and idolizes a younger version of himself. The difference is that Peter B. Parker is still competent and relatively mature. He represents the arc that Peter has gone through in recent comics, but better. It actually portrays his actions as unhealthy problems that he needs to get past unlike in Slott’s comics where that’s just who he is. That’s honestly just one more reason to like Into The Spider-Verse, it even does Brand New Day better and more accurate to the character than some recent comics.
