why do some people consider lolita to be dangerous to wear at night? one of my lolita friends doesnt go on public transport in it. i was just wondering because it doesnt seem like the type of thing to provoke an assault
unfortunately, people often get less pleasant at nighttime, they get drunk and loud and really inappropriate at times and though I’ve never had anyone try to assault me while wearing lolita, it _does stick out and people tend to think that if you stick out that means they’re allowed to throw just any comment after you and bother you about it, which gets so tiresome and can at times lead to more serious situations. then again, my parents aren’t _that strict about it, it’s only if I’m going somewhere on my own, and if I’m already wearing lolita from earlier that day or something they don’t force me to change into something else. then again, I don’t stay out late most of the time so it’s not a huge issue. I just know that personally, if I’m wearing lolita (especially with unnatural wigs) in the evening and I’m downtown I feel less safe than I would if I blended in. I wish I didn’t, cause it’s not related to my confidence but my safety and I think that’s really sad u_u
