Tablet Problems

So recently the port on my tablet broke. Meaning it doesn't work at all anymore. This means I have 2 options.

1. Get my tablet (wacom intuos4) repaired for 70 dollars

pros - I get to have the tablet Im used to and know how to use, I know what I should be getting back.

Cons - its expensive to repair

2. I can get a new tablet (a monoprice) for about 50 dollars

pros - its cheaper, my friend has one and it works well, there are no scratches or dings in it

Cons - I would have to learn how to use it (not that hard), I can't go look at it in a store/try it out before hand really, I don't know the brand that well

So I really don't know which I should do so if anyone wants to put their two cents towards this go right ahead. I mean this seems like it would be obvious to go with the cheaper one and get a new one because then its nice and new and stuff, but I love my tablet and I've had it for about 3 years and I really like how it works and all of that good stuff so I'm kinda stuck on what I should do. Because it's only a 20 dollar difference really.

I fixed my tablet pen!

By REPEATEDLY BANGING IT ON THE TABLE

Hey, so, my tablet won't let me... draw anything? I drew a few strong lines yesterday (out of frustration) and now all my tablet pen does is select things with right click, even if I'm not touching the tablet. The pressure still works fine, but I can't click or make lines. 

I've tried, 

Re-installing the driver

Un-installing and re-installing my tablet

Changing the pen nibs

Unplugging it and plugging it back into another USB port

Restarting my computer

Re-starting the art program

Drawing with the eraser (I still have the same problem)

Taking the pen apart (springs fell out. Eraser no longer has any give.) 

Exploring the pen settings and setting everything off of right-click

Do I need to send it in for repairs, or purchase another pen? I'd rather just upgrade to a new tablet what with the 80$ it'll cost to buy a new pen. 

Also I cannot find the "Saved Preferences" tab on my computer. I've searched and searched, but nada. 

Please please help if you know what's going on/what I need to do.

What is the deal?

A Few months back, I had to throw away my old intous 4 that I had for years away because the little 'power dock' where you plug the wire into the tablet broke away. When I got my new tablet the day after I threw my other one away, it was working just fine. It has not even been a few years yet. Just a few months. Now the little 'dock' inside my tablet is showing the same signs that made my other tablet bite the dust. the Light turning on and off repeately everytime I move just a little to the point where it turns off and you have to restart the computer to get it on and THE  'DOCK' IS EXTREMELY LOOSE. Already? What is the deal? It should not have broken this fast.  I have not been able to turn it back on all day now. This is really bugging me. Maybe I should go with another tablet besides the intous 4 when this one breaks down completely. 

Any Suggestions? ;A;
