Summary:

Hollowly, Etho names him, "The Wolfman of Hermitopia." The Wolfman grins, showing off teeth that, even without his mask, are knife-sharp, "The Slob in Aisle Five." Absently, Etho remembers that he's wearing a novelty shirt stained multiple times over and sweatpants that are two sizes too big. -- Someone has put a hit out on Etho's superhero alter-ego. Joel sees this as a way to get close to him.

They’re still his hands, he hasn't had any injuries, nothing has changed, physically. It feels like there’s air where his muscles should be. It’s felt like that for a long time now. ---*--- It was just a deer. Gem has killed them before, and she will have to again. If she wants her and Impulse to survive, she has to. Her and Impulse need to survive, they need to be strong in case Pearl ever changes her mind. They're both out there right now, alone. Impulse doesn't know how to fight, but Pearl does. Pearl was a multi-world leader and Impulse was a blue collar worker. What chance does he have, if Gem's not there?
