I think my mom takes Imitrex (sp?) as needed for her migraines and i don’t think she’s ever had any side effects on it besides it putting her to sleep.

Yeah, imitrex and imigran are the same thing I believe, and I used to take them - they worked well for me some of the time. But they’re abortive migraine meds and my migraines are so bad and chronic that I can’t take them any more. I need to find a new preventative med that isn’t going to turn me into a zombie like Topamax has. I mean ... on one hand, at least I’m pain free? But on the other, I’m super forgetful and I have no energy. It sucks.

But yeah, Imigrain and Imitrex were great as far as abortives went.

Hi, I just had a question about your post on lactose intolerance. You said cheese doesn't have lactose--I didn't know that. But cheese still makes me sick. I also can't take lactase pills--those made me reeeeally sick. Do you think that means I've got something different? Idk, everyone always assumed I was lactose intolerant because milk, cheese and ice cream make me sick. (Lactose free stuff is fine tho.)

Ah, thanks for asking! I’m absolutely NOT a medical expert on these kind of things and you should try and get a real doctor’s opinion on this. But idk, to me it sounds like you might be actually allergic to lactose? Bc in that case the very small remnants left in cheese (that an intolerant person can cope with) would still cause a very strong reaction for you and I think the pills might, too (unless you’re allergic to other components in them, I have a few meds I can’t take bc I’m allergic to them). (Also, interesting fact, many pills actually contain small amounts of lactose so it might be worth looking at stuff before you take anything) I have a friend who is actually allergic to milk protein but in her case even lactose free stuff doesn’t help.

Sorry I couldn’t help you more but I’m glad you found products that don’t make you sick! :)(also, just to add in general, but ofc my experience is not universal, everyone does experience stuff differently!)
