I dont know how much of this is intentionally based on the enslavement of Black people, but i do want to share as an piece of trivia, the term robot came from the czech term for slave/indentured servant and was popularized by the play Rossum's Universal Robots, which was about a bunch of artifical human laborers staging an uprising.

I dont want to act like how one engages with fictional media is a complete reflection of how they treat people in real life, but there is something deeply uncomfortable about how so many people took a look at a metaphor for slave uprisings and slavery and decided they were gonna side with the slavers and are so eager to call the slave allegory slurs.
