a shattered crystal ball.

thinking about how izidora has been complimented by others, various times throughout her adulthood, but only in the context of sexual attraction & nothing else.

but rarely has she been called beautiful by anyone before. and if someone ever does, the instinctual urge is to never believe them: not because she thinks they’re lying to her, but because she hates her own body for being used. she takes down her make up every night & is forced to remember what she’s been through every time her mirror reflects her own face back at her. her right cheek, brutally scarred & disfigured as a form of marking her — of being owned by someone. how can she be beautiful when she’s only ever been seen as an object?

but she wants to be called that by someone. it very much gives the quote: “i’m not beautiful — but i could be.”

adult kyouka gets an undercut!!! she’s buff! like super buff!!!! not as buff as you’d imagine kiri wld be in the future but somewhere that’s like shouto!!! she’s got tattoos because she thinks its punk!! also piercings. a lot of them. she needs strong arms to carry her wife

the key difference between yamikumo and deku’s character is the fact the biggest thing that’s holding yamikumo down is himself. yes he’s got bullies similar to izuku, but the thing is, he lets himself drown in whatever insults they spill. he’s always teased and mocked for wanting to become a hero despite his quirkless state, and mikumo doesn’t want to appear stupid and go against what they say because he believes that he has nothing to prove them wrong.

around 9 he’s pretty much dropped the idea of becoming a hero. well, publicly at least, internally he’s still clutching onto that dream even if it was a loose string. it was heartbreaking to watch heroes on tv but he does it anyway because he won’t deny his interest in them. he’s just saddened by the idea that he can’t reach that like they can.

mikumo’s beaten himself up so many times and he’s convinced himself as worthless the moment he’s diagnosed as quirkless. he has no motivation whatsoever to keep going and loathes himself for something he can’t control.

but, deep down, yami’s a hero in ways he can’t see. he’d always defend weaker individuals from bullies even if it meant it’d end up with him having a bloody nose or a scraped knee. the other difference is yamikumo steps up to his bullies and appears meaner/colder than izuku, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t believe the shit he says. regardless, mikumo has the penchant for helping others out no matter what the situation, since he really can’t just stand there and watch someone get hurt.
