When hearing me speak is like experiencing phone calls breaking up with static minus the telephone wires, it makes sense why people keep asking my mother whether I cried when I left her womb. There’s two things I learned in school: one, uninvited silences are scorned and two, people only care for the word “quiet” in Scrabble. Because when my teacher calls on me to answer questions I haven’t rehearsed responses to, I discovered that sometimes my mouth can trap words like a dammed tributary even while it’s wide open. And though I may never be able to occupy a room the way liquids fill up all the spaces its given just by walking into it, or have my shadow stop hiding from the sunlight, it’s okay. It’s okay because scientists can track hurricanes and measure an earthquake’s damage but they can’t seem find a cure for shyness. That’s because it’s not an illness. It’s never been.

On contacting new people and introversion

I would like to have one or two new people in my life to talk about stuff. Well not just any stuff but stuff I like and care about. I am an introvert after all - small talk isn't my thing.

But as an introvert the prospect of starting conversations with people and eventually realizing you're not on the same wavelength nor like the same things is a bit exhausting.

Also until I get a some sort of an idea of your personality I'm a bit shy and even awkward. But at the same time I'll answer any question you dare to ask me! :D I'll return the favor once past that shy-awkward stage :P

In addition to that I also tend to get along better with women. But I also easily develop crushes.
