hi, hope u have a nice day!!! for your flower project: how about sakusa + forget-me-nots? because with komori and him joining different teams, i can't help but believe he'd miss him dearly. he seems like the kind of person who has few but very strong relationships, so maybe he'd worry about his cousin and best friend leaving him, ending up alone, ... idk i just think that even if he's distant on the outside, he certainly does feel as much as everyone else and aaah i love this asshole (⋟﹏⋞)
Hiii thank you!! I hope you have a nice day too! And he certainly is the “stays quiet and feels cold but cares about their limited amount of true friend/relationships dearly” type. Sakusa deserves all the love in this world
Edit: this turned out longer than I planned ahahha and I had few different things to write but I kinda like how it turned out.
When the time rolled and the next phase of their lives began, the beginning of a new chapter, a bright new page waiting to be filled; Sakusa found himself lost.
The sky bluer than usual, the air feeling colder in his lungs, maybe it was the fear for the inevitable. He was in denial when the deals were sealed, he was in denial when they tried on different uniforms at places far apart.
When he was playing for MSBY Black Jackal and Komori for EJP Raijin, he was still refusing to accept that their time together had come to an end. Years spent side by side, playing together, watching after one another... And now what? Was it all supposed to go away in a- poof? Or should it go away with a bang? He didn’t want to learn and to avoid it, he avoided Komori as well.
He found himself outside more and more each day, when someone tried to meet up, he’d say he is busy that afternoon. And it wasn’t exactly a lie, he was busy walking at wide parks, in the sections with less people and more green. An escape in the middle of the story, a touch of nature in the heart of city. Yet this started to get dull after a while and he would come across the same shade of blue again, this time in the ground, hidden among the green, glowing vibrantly and luring him in. He walked away and stayed off the park for a week.
When he went out again, he came across the same blue petals. And as he did last time, he turned his head and walked away. With avoidance, the need to get it all out and talk to someone was rising but the only one he could go to was away from him. Sakusa had never felt lonelier.
The third time is the charm, he couldn’t help but remember when his aimless steps guided him to a flower shop, and there whom he assumed to be the owner was busy with the flowers. The same damned blue. Before he could act, they were right up in his nose and two sparkling eyes behind them.
“I noticed the way you were gazing at them and thought you might like a small bouqet.” you said. And with no reply from the man, you continued. “I have plenty of them ready and can afford to give away some, if that’s the cause of your hesitation.-” “What are they?” he almost sounded exhausted.
“Forget-me-nots?” Confusion was clear in your voice. “Flowers to symbolize care and remembrance? They symbolize a connection that last through time, fidelity and loyality in a relationship despite separation or any other challenge to come. Why would you ask as if they offended you?”
“They’ve been coming in my way for a while now.”
“Maybe they were just trying to tell you something.” His eyes soften at that and looks somewhere else, at someone that’s not there in person but in thought, heart and soul. With a bow of his head, he thanks for the flowers again and leaves the flower shop. Perhaps he was too quick to accept defeat and end of a treasured friendship. Forget-me-nots in one hand, he walks with a goal in mind, head clear for the first time in a while.
