Today’s post introduces the IHT. . The Inuit Heritage Trust is an organisation based in Iqaluit and aims to preserve, enrich, and protect the Inuit heritage and identity employed in Nunavut’s archaeological sites, ethnographic resources, and traditional place names. . They are also in charge of reviewing archaeological permits and own all archaeological material excavated within the Nunavut region. I worked alongside a member of the IHT last summer, when we co-organised a little week-long field school at the site we were working on. She was kind enough to give me this awesome hat, and also gave me the caribou skin that I needed for my experiments! Which is just one example of the many positive results that can come from such collaborations. . #inuitheritagetrust #inuitheritage #culturalheritage #Nunavut #Inuit #archaeology #archaeologist #collaboration https://www.instagram.com/p/CFJlfl9nCA3/?igshid=112w57abj5k4n
