I love to see how the people in the non-flooded parts of Belgium are already scrambling for donating and collecting clothing, food, blankets, pet food and stuff, sleeping bags, medicine, hygiene products, batteries and chargers, etc.
I hate to see how the majority of local governments fail to organize it. In my town alone there are already two truck drivers offering their services and several volunteers for collecting but they need a central collecting point where the stuff can be donated, organized in packages, picked up etc. All the surrounding town councils are death quiet even though the major political parties were all on the news yesterday with their fancy new bridge. The people are screaming, you just gotta listen! How hard can it be!
It is not recommended to drive to the area yourself. It is dangerous and chaotic and you could disrupt emergency services. The main focus right now is on immediate needs (like I listed above) not on furniture. Anyway, IF there ever comes a map with collection points in I will share it here...dont get your hopes up.
Dissapointed but not surprised😔how hard could it be?🤔
