Haven't used Tumblr in years! I guess I'll make this my first post. One of my more recent cosplays :'D!

#Inuyasha

Since everyone was asking for the photos from Ronin Expo 2023 - Here they are!

The outfit is the officially licensed Robe of the Firerat from Great Eastern Entertainment. It's cel shaded and so is Tessaiga. I painted it with liquitex and custom mixed colors myself to match the anime shading. I picked purple ribbons instead to match the necklace and in the manga sometimes it was colored purple/blue. The very end of the ribbon isn't tied because of how they placed the spots to put them in the sleeves. Maybe I'll instead cut pieces and sew them in individually - I'm not sure about that yet though if I want to.

The necklace is dyed tigers eye and the magatama are plastic from the licensed necklace by GE. I made the InuKag locket by looking at several screenshots from the second movie - making a definitive picture and redrawing the entire art extended past what is seen in the movie so it could fit into any locket size. With real leather suede cording. It was the most accurate I could make it.

The wig was done by Alichii from 2005 in Katie Bair's style. It's actually made from 3 wigs. I'm going to be getting a new InuYasha wig done that's cel shaded eventually to go with the rest of the theme.

The footpads were made by me. There was no time to order adhesive feet pads so I traced my feet onto EVA foam, cut it out and used puff paint to put dots on the bottoms for traction. Then... I poured tons of spirit gum and brushed it on top. Placed my feet on them and they worked perfectly for me. I should do a video tutorial on it.

Untransformed Tessaiga was fun to do. I looked at the Toonami figures and cut out chips from the blade based on that with a Dremel. Then shaded it from looking at anime screenshots I took.

I didn't bring my transformed Tessaiga. But I made that one entirely myself.

I didn't bring the comically hilarious floating eyebrows because I couldn't find my silicone real hair ones that I made xD I might have to remake them. But I did bring Myouga that I made. The ears this time are animatronic cat ears from cosgear. I used to use necomimi. They never sold white ears like they said they would so I had the idea and extra shortpile fur to swap the black fabric for white. Anyway, the ears are pretty big and look closer to how Rumiko sensei drew them recently for a Yashahime cover and there's fur in them like Shiina's art. So I guess it worked out either way. Oh, and Kagome's backpack.

Shadouge Week 2025, Day 7; Free day

I thought I'd have them cosplay as two characters I ship from the Inuyasha series, Kagura and Sesshoumaru. Just having some fun with the only picture I had time for. :)

(Though, an encounter between Shadow and Sesshoumaru would be really cool.)
