I can’t do this anymore...
Daymare 1998 - Invader Studios now on kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/invaderstudios/daymare-1998tm-bringing-back-the-survival-horror
As I mentioned a few days ago, this ^^^ is what have occupied some of my time since last September! :D
Maybe some of you remember when, a couple of years ago, a video of a fan made remake of Resident Evil 2 was posted on YouTube. It was called Resident Evil 2 Reborn and was being developed by a passionate group of Italian RE fans, before Capcom shut down the project a few weeks later and announced the official remake of the game. Capcom then proceeded to invite the small indie group behind RE2 Reborn to its headquarters in Japan to give them their support in developing their own survival horror game.
So, last year I attended a comic convention in Rome to meet with this indie group and show them my portfolio, because I admired so much their work and what they’d accomplished and I wanted to contribute to it, somehow. Turns out, they showed great interest in my work and stayed in contact with me until I officially started a collaboration as a 2D artist on last September. I was sooooo happy!
Since then, we’ve been working on the development of an original survival horror game which is Daymare: 1998. The game takes a lot of inspiration from the Resident Evil series, as it’s hinted from the “1998″ in the title. It brings back the original concept of survival horror dynamics and atmospheres that were found in old-school games from the 90s, when they were less action-oriented and more about strategy and puzzle-solving. So I’ve been drawing loooots of zombie-like creatures in these past few months and finally, FINALLY, our project has arrived on Kickstarter.
DAYMARE: 1998 ON KICKSTARTER
It’s so great to be able to finally talk to you all about this! I know it’s not really Nivanfield related but in a way it’s here today thanks to our common passion for Resident Evil, and if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series I think you’re really going to enjoy this game! <3
You can find all the info about the game by following the link to the Kickstarter campaign HERE. The game will be released on Steam and also on PS4 and Xbox One, and will have two modes: over the shoulder third person, and fixed camera mode for a real 90s feel.
But the most exciting part is... a few very important names that worked on past Resident Evil games are going to collaborate with us in the making of Daymare! Just go check it out on the Kickstarter page, this is just GREAT :D You can get the game by pledging only 14€ (a little less than 15$) and also receive a few other special features.
I will post a few of the drawings I made for the game in the next days so you can see what I’ve been doing~ :) I really hope you’re going to like this and are as excited as I am at the moment! Please let me know your opinions on this, we highly welcome feedbacks and I’d be really happy to hear what you all think about this! My askbox is always open to have a chat (whether it’s about this or not) =w=
Cheers! ☆
