i bought two ps3 games but couldnt fit them into my shelf. then i mentally passed out for 3 hours and now ive completely reorganized my shelf and i feel like my soul is healed. moving around plastic video game boxes is therapy to me

Got a random urge to play hit PS3 game Resistance: Fall of Man a few days ago

Having played the first games of both Spyro and Ratchet its really interesting to see how consistent Insomniac's game design is - in the sense that said "design" sort of takes a backseat to pure vibes. There's no sprint and no dodge and no nothing, you just point cool guns at cool alien monsters and go pew pew and it genuinely has really nice game feel

I'm not rly a military shooter person and tend to just roll my eyes at overly militaristic theming but what i think drew me to Resistance in particular is how much of a PS2-type game it is.

Can't put it into words but I'm sure you can tell yourself if you've seen a lot of PS2 games...there's something about the texturing and lighting and color usage that makes the game feel entirely PS2. In a great way!! I think PS2 era games are some of the most beautiful ever made and Resistance has that vibe to it even if its buried underneath a bunch of military shooterness.
